Recently we were asked to carry out some work for a repeat client at their beautiful home to the south of Newbury. Work on this site in Enborne, included dismantling this very large dead Oak tree. What is dismantling a tree? Dismantling is the careful removal of a tree, taking it apart piece by piece, as opposed to felling the entire tree as a whole. If the area is clear below the tree, the branches and logs can either fall or be carefully thrown to the ground. If there are buildings or anything below or near to the tree that need protecting, this can make tree removal much more tricky. We had to use a team of five men for this job and our largest Cherry picker as well as a large Crane due to the size of the tree and its proximity to surrounding buildings and beautiful gardens. This job took 2–3 days to complete, with the crane in for one day to help get the largest parts of the tree dismantled safely.
We were lucky with the weather on this one as the forecast in the Newbury area was torrential rain on the day we had the crane booked which would have made this already tricky job that little bit harder, but thankfully the sun shone, and we got the job completed with no problems.
The tree trunk was taken off in large pieces to Marlborough in Wiltshire to be milled in to large slabs ready to be made into furniture and any smaller timber was left on site for the customer to keep and use as firewood.
The client was extremely happy with the result of the dead oak tree removal, and we have been back since to carry out more work.
