This job was for a repeat client of ours who we have been working with for a number of years. They are a large Local Country Estate and the estate stretches for miles across the Berkshire countryside. They therefore have many, many trees that need maintaining and surveying on a regular basis. We are also often called in for emergency work for this client where trees may be posing a danger to local people, especially when situated on public roads and on public rights of way where people may be walking or driving.
This particular work was carried out near Great Shefford, situated between the towns of Hungerford, Wantage and Newbury.
The job was to fell a row of approx. 17 Leylandii trees at the site which our team of four guys completed with the help of a telehandler and a digger. Some of the trees were able to be felled in one, but others were more difficult and couldn’t be due to their location and proximity to buildings and other trees/plants. The stumps from the trees did not need to be ground out on this particular job, as the client requested for them to be left in situ.
Tree felling requires precision and great care to ensure the safety of people around, the surrounding are and preservation of the wood. Luckily for us, we have a great team of experienced arborists that have been carrying out this sort of work for years.
The timber from this job was chipped on site with a large wood chipper and will be taken away as it is to be recycled and used for biomass. Biomass is a renewable energy source, generated from burning wood, plants and other organic matter. It releases carbon dioxide when burned, but considerably less than fossil fuels.
The client was really happy with the outcome of this job, and we are due to be back soon to carry out similar work across the estate.
